Swimming

Swimming is not just about 'how far' and 'how fast' you go, it requires grace, elegance and economy of movement.

However, for many of us swimming is more like a battle against the water - thrashing and expending energy but getting nowhere. The head position adopted by most poor swimmers, particularly when performing the breaststroke, would be impossible to hold for long periods out of the water.

Pilates helps swimmers go faster and further, by teaching you to 'slow down', perform exercises at a deliberate pace, and focus on breathing, body orientation, balance and a sense of lightness.
